I want to tell you about a soldier named Dvir. Two years ago, Dvir was fighting in Rafah when he stepped on a bomb. The explosion tore shrapnel through his body and took his sight. Five of his closest friends, the men he called his brothers, were killed beside him in that moment.
Dvir survived. He spent months in the dark, blind, reliving it over and over. The flashbacks. The nightmares. A depression most of us cannot begin to imagine.
And when he finally sat down with a therapist from Belev Echad, one of the organizations Iron Dome Coffee donates 18% of profits to, he said something I have not been able to stop thinking about. He said: "Thank God I couldn't see."Because in his blindness, he was spared the sight of what happened to the people he loved most. He could only hear it. He never had to watch. Think about that for a second. A young man found a reason to thank God inside the worst moment of his life, because it could have been even more unbearable. Today, Dvir is part of a Belev Echad healing retreat, surrounded by soldiers who carry the same kind of wounds, slowly finding his way back to himself. That retreat costs money. That recovery costs money. And it happens because people like you decided that your morning coffee should mean something. This is what your coffee funds. This is why Iron Dome Coffee exists. ~
